Crowning of the Summer Queen, early 1960s

These photos were received from Chris Claydon. Chris is the son in law of the late Bobby and Isobel Mitchell, who lived in Stenhouse Drive, Burntisland, and the photos are from Bobby and Isobel's collection. Chris dates the crowning ceremony as probably early 1960s. We'd be delighted if someone could give us the exact date, and perhaps also the names of the participants. Contact details.

Update (April 2013) Thanks to Carol Kirk (née Wallace) for the following information: "Just noticed the 'Crowning of Summer Queen 1960s' photos on site. Surprised to see myself so can shed some light on 3 of them. The date was definitely 1961 for photos 01, 05 and 07 - I checked by searching out the medal I was given and it is inscribed 'Children's Day 1961'. Photo 01 - me (nearest camera, 1st Lady in Waiting) with Kate Edwards (Queen). Photo 05 - ditto. Photo 07 - ditto with Kathleen Mabon (2nd Lady in Waiting) in front seat."
