Burntisland Town Council in 1964


This picture below shows Burntisland Town Council in session around March 1964. The council chamber looks much the same today, although the occupants have changed. The chamber now hosts meetings of Burntisland Community Council and other local organisations.

When you look at the names of the councillors, you see the source of a number of street names (and the health centre) in the town.

The photograph was copied from the newspaper cuttings archive of Burntisland Heritage Trust, and it's likely that the original appeared in the Fife Free Press.
