Photographs by Tommy Dunbar

These 18 striking and impressive views of the Burntisland area were taken by local amateur photographer Tommy Dunbar. They were secured by a combination of patience, quick reactions, and being out and about at odd hours - one of the few pleasures of working shifts at the aluminium works, according to Tommy! He added: "I often got strange looks from paper boys delivering on snowy winter mornings, finding someone with a tripod and camera at 6 a.m., taking time exposures around town." He also stressed that the photos were taken without the use of filters.
